Whare is a well known kaupapa Māori leader, researcher and kura Māori advocate with over 30 years of proven teaching leadership from Kōhanga Reo, Kuratahi, Wharekura, Secondary Schools through to Tertiary education. Previously, Whare was a branch manager in the Banking and Finance industry, where she honed her skills in business management.

She has led and been part of local and national programmes, guiding authentic and sustainable educational change throughout Aotearoa. Her passion is to further empower whānau and believes that by harnessing learning as the vehicle will solidify people initiatives, demand positive action as well as grow whānau who are healthy and resilient, now and into the future.
